you remember renting video tapes, every once in a while you would get that one that was all beat up. but you really hoped the movie would be good. so you would sit through muddled scenes, and try to fix the tracking, a read lips when the sound would cut out. all the while you just keep hoping that there's going to be something in there that's going to make it worth your while, because you paid the 4 bucks to rent it. then finally, you just give up trying to fix it and sit through all the mistakes and ommissions and scratches, just waiting for it to end.

now, i'm all for the notion of there possibly being life on other planets, and that there just might be some sort of wild validity to ufos.

but a moon base? really? is casper van diem going to lead our troops into battle? come. on.
